Given unlimited time and funding, what one initiative, program, or service would you implement today : More available college tours around the state. Giving more students more opportunities to set foot on college campuses

What have you learned about the students you serve during the past year? : So many students still don’t know that college is possible, and it's on us to help change that.

What is your favorite part of your job? : The relationships I build with students, parents, colleges, and communities all over the state of Mississippi

What has been (or what you hope to be) the most impactful part of your SACAC membership experience? : Networking with all the great people with the same passion for helping students.

What brought you to SACAC? : I was a presenter, the networking of great people, the resources, etc.

What is your best piece of advice for someone new to the profession? : You have to meet people where they are. You can’t expect people to have the same knowledge or resources others have. You figure out how to understand the students and their situations before diving right in.

What brought you to this particular role? : I was given a promotion.

How did you get started in this field? : I was introduced to someone doing my current job. I was intrigued, asked questions, and was asked to apply to the organization.

What previous roles have you held? : I was the Assistant Director of State Outreach for about 13 years.

How long have you been in your current role? : I’ve been in my current role for about a year.
