Postsecondary Match Instructor - KIPP Metro Atlanta

KIPP Forward Postsecondary Match Instructors are dedicated to guiding the journeys of KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's 9th-12th grade scholars. Our courses, spanning from one semester to an academic year, are designed to equip scholars with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in college, various pathways, and their future careers.

As a Postsecondary Match Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting scholars at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate High School. Your focus will be on providing daily classroom instruction, advising, and career exploration to ensure all scholars understand the necessary tools for a strategic postsecondary match. You will teach a College Knowledge Career Success (CKCS) course, teaching three of four 90-minute class periods.

Job Responsibilities:

Scholar Focus

• Manage an assigned caseload of scholars, emphasizing essay writing, public speaking, research, and career exploration within the course.
• Ensure completion of the College Knowledge Career Success (CKCS) learning modules and performance assessments by all enrolled scholars.
• Plan and teach three periods of CKCS daily, incorporating effective lesson planning, teaching strategies, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Career Services, the Director of Postsecondary Match Counseling, Grade Level Chairs, and the Assistant Principal to share insights and strategies for all sophomores.
• Track and maintain current data using platforms such as Overgrad, Infinite Campus, and Salesforce.
• Support and facilitate various one-on-one meetings with scholars and their families.
• Research and assist with placement in summer programs, fly-ins, and internships.
• Engage in initiatives around the Match process, including ACT preparation, YouScience Career Assessment, and financial literacy.
• Complete daily campus responsibilities at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, including morning duty, grade-level meetings, family events, weekly staff meetings, and participation in school-based, regional, and national professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Registrar to maintain the Overgrad database, including updating grades and test scores for and generating YouScience completion reports for key stakeholders.
