Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree (required)
  • 3-5 years of experience in college advising and/or post-secondary admissions
  • ACSI Professional Staff Certification (School Counselor) or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing letters of recommendation preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills—proactively managing details, deadlines, and information
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members
  • Knowledge of the college admissions and financial aid landscape, including current trends
  • Comfortable with technology tools such as Google Suite, Apple, Microsoft, and database management
  • Committed to ongoing professional development

Responsibilities:

  • Guide students (grades 9–12) and families through the college planning process, including curriculum planning, standardized testing, and college applications
  • Write personalized letters of recommendation and ensure timely submission of all application materials
  • Maintain accurate student records, graduation audits, and standardized test data
  • Plan and lead college counseling events, workshops, and college exposure trips
  • Oversee college counseling resources, including website updates, publications, and planning software
  • Serve as a key liaison for area and national college fairs, and maintain professional memberships in college admissions organizations
  • Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and stay current on admissions trends
  • Embrace other duties as assigned to support the mission and vision of CCHS
