September 2025 Quick Minutes
SACAC at NACAC and Hispanic Heritage Month
This week, hundreds, if not thousands, of admissions professionals will travel to the vibrant Midwestern city of Columbus, Ohio, where they will come together to empower, collaborate, and inspire fellow professionals in higher education. The SACAC Board will represent our members as a NACAC regional affiliate. This year’s NACAC theme is United We Rise.
“Together, we are stronger. Together, we lift each other up. Together, we rekindle the passion and joy that brought us to this profession in the first place.” —Excerpt from the NACAC Conference Website

September 15 marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. SACAC proudly recognizes our Hispanic members, as well as college admission professionals and counselors across the country, for their dedication and commitment to advancing our vision and mission as an organization that fosters a collaborative and inclusive network of college admission counseling professionals.
We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans who have enriched our nation in countless ways through public service, arts and culture, sports, civil rights and advocacy, education, and more.
This month, let us continue to encourage, advocate for, and recognize those who have championed access and inclusivity in higher education.
Southern Scope is brought to you by the SACAC Communication Advisory Board (CAB).
